58.) Sometimes I Lightly Battled With A Stubborn Will...

Sometimes I lightly battled
With a stubborn will
I did not wish to write
What I did
But that was too deeply in me
That was there...
And to resist in any way, at all
Was beyond my power

White on white, gold on cream
And I was lightly dressed
In the map’s own dream
Green on green, life on life
And I was brightly dressed
With light
In its centred seam

Under the shadow of the wing
In the secret place of abiding
Deep in the shade I lived
Covered with his feathers
White on white, gold on cream
And I was dressed with light
By the map’s own dream

Drawn on forever
And never weakened by that
Pulled apart for a season
And never hurt by that
And green on green, life on life
All unclothed I was
With dark
Where no one had been
